Hollywood press

I have only seen one model of the Hollywood press. is there more than one model?
They are a great press and I would try and figure out some way to clean and lubricate it, without taking it apart. Like a kerosene bath, for starters.
 
Mine is the one with the shorter stroke, about 3.5 inches, with the body as a one piece casing. I think there one with a longer stroke and multi-piece body

Mine was getting a bit sticky and I tried to get handle off before but no success, it almost looks like it's a press fit, same as the little arms at the end of the cross-pin. I ended up just putting it in a pan and flushed the bottom cross pin with lots of WD-40 until it looked like it was clean and then drenched it with lots of synthetic oil. Now it runs nice and smooth again.

It stays pretty clean except when decapping, primer crud falls into the handle slot and it gets dirty again.

I'll watch this thread with interest, as I'd like to know how to get it apart too.

Especially for those of us young'uns who aren't old enough to have seen one (unlike Bruce, aka H4831 :p).

Looks like it came off an oil rig. Built like the proverbial brick outhouse.

Upon further inspection, there is a small pin (1/4" diameter) that runs down the center of the larger cross pin. There is a small snap ring on either end of the 1/4 pin. Remove the snap ring from one end of the small pin and use a brass drift to drive the small pin out.

It is this small pin that locks the pusharms and handle in place. The handle will come out but it's a tight one!
