Nowhere did anyone say not to buy an Eotech. Nor did anyone compare them to the Vortex, etc. Shawn merely posted a comment regarding the current issues being experienced with Eotechs.
Chances are the red dot type sights do not experience the same shift, due to different technology. The shift is something that several large LE agencies have experienced, with patrol rifles being stored in hot vehicles. Most professional users are accepting the information, and making decisions to stay with Eotechs while accomodating the issues, due to financial constraints, or to dump them in favour of Aimpoints.
The only people who are arguing about this are civilian users who appear to have an emotional and financial attachment to their decision to run Eotechs as opposed to other systems, and will attempt to justify their decision by making excuses as to why it doesn't affect them, and attempt to convince others to purchase the same, as if by doing so, it somehow validates their choice.
Yes, other factors will change POA/POI, but why knowingly use a piece of equipment that will do it when there are other options?
Regards.
