So this summer I picked up a nice used sig220 dark elite here on the EE. I then bought a Blackhawk serpa concealment holster used on the EE as well. I am finding that it fits very very tightly in the holster though. So much so that I’m worried it’ll wear down the finish if I use it. Can I do anything to this holster to get it to fit the pistol a bit better?

If it's a leather holster soak it in water for a short time to soak the leather, then wrap the gun in a plastic bag, put it in the holster and form it around the gun by hand. Then leave it to dry on it's own (don't use a hair dryer or such). Once dry, the holster will conform to the shape of the gun almost exactly, giving it a good fit.

I really like the Uncle mike holster, I have for my 1911, simple, no messing with fingers, and just adjust the tension screw, I don't have one for the P220, have one for a 229, but that don't work I have the holster that came with a Jericho range kit, never used it, had that finger release on it also.
You can shape those holsters with a heat gun.

I have to agree with Still alive, turn that one around and get another holster. They're banned at a lot of ranges these days for good reason, terrible placement of the release button.. gotta be very careful

Lots of nice Kydex options out there. I've always had good luck with Raven

Thanks guys. I just backed off the screw and it’s become a little easier of a fit. I have quite a bit of experience running these, as I used to run a USP with the same holster. I’m actually a big fan of serpa holsters despite the bad rap.

I've had good luck with Fobus Holsters have four three different guns. Fit is easy, retention on both the passive system and the index finger level 2 system work fine. I also have an Uncle Mikes passive for one pistol, and it's OK as well. They all, even a leather holster, will cause wear. It is what it is.

For the 220 Fobus has both level 1 and level 2 holsters, and they are great quality at a reasonable price. Amazon sells them for $40-50 delivered.

ebay sells the Fobus for $10 to $15. I have a number of them and they work well.

I bought a g21 gcode holster for my ppq, it was a bit snug so a layer of electrical tape on the snug area and a heat gun on the kydex fixed that in 5 minutes.

I have done the same with those surplus leather sufariland Police holsters for the 4 in Smiths, they have a plastic layer in them , and a heat gun can change the top end so that you can draw straight up
