I have my first revolver on the way, a Taylor and Co 1873 with a 4 3/4” octagon barrel. Where can i find aleather holster for it? I have been trying my google skills with no luck. I am looking for a holster that can go on a normal pant belt, not a gun belt style holster. Hope what im trying to say make sense and im wanting to stay buying within Canada.

I was in the same boat. I have gorgeous S&W DA in .44 Russian with a 5" barrel. I was searching for good leather holster for it, but no one seems to make one specific to that model. Hunter holsters in the US seem to make a good range and one guy suggested the Colt New Service in .455 holster would be suitable. I looked into it, and at $75., adding in the currency exchange and shipping, it came in around $130. I have a leather worker in my building who said he'd make me custom holster for around the same price point. I did an internet search and found the Liberty holster on Amazon. It's perfect for what I want. Granted, it's not as pretty or as aesthetically pleasing as a nice leather holster, but the price was much easier on my pension budget and will do everything I want. Something to look into.

The Canada part is the hard part unless you go custom. And leather is going to be pricey. Try Frontier Gunleather which is a division of Bianchi. They ship to Canada and will have holsters for your specific gun

Marstar(site sponsor) might be a good place to start. Most western holsters will fit easily....though a bit loosely, on a 2" belt. If there is too much movement when drawing(usually the holster wants to ride up with the revolver), it is an easy matter to tighten up the fit to accommodate. Rivets, thongs, blocks, Chicago screws, etc. Another alternative is to make your own. Not hard to do. There are any number of tutorials on you tube, showing the process.
If money is not a problem, and you want your money to stay in Canada... you can always get one custom-made. in which case Working Cowboy Leather (Chatham, ON), is a good choice. Will build to suit. Also, Last Best West (Calgary), might be another source, right in your back yard.
