Hi guys I have recently purchased a s&w double action first model in 44 russian with 6 inch barrel. I plan on carrying this hunting and in the back country fishing. I am needing a holster preferably with snap to hold it in. I have been told a Bianchi .38/.357 will fit. I am wondering if anyone knows of any other options that would work well or let me know any experiences good or bad with other models. Any help would be appreciated as I have searched this to no avail. Thank you.

I also have a S&W DA revolver with 6" barrel in .44 Russian. I have a Bianchi model 7000 sporting holster for it that I found used at a gun show a few years ago. It's a snug fit and I sometimes use the combination when I'm out shooting targets in the bush. I don't think I'd want to do any serious hikes with it as I found it uncomfortable for extended periods of time. You will want a flap holster for this revolver and I'm pretty sure Hoplite Tactical had some for order awhile ago. Send them a PM or take a boo on their site.

I'm fond of a flap holster with a shoulder strap personally and you could get someone who works with leather to make a custom one for you.
