Well, I bit the bullet (so to speak) and ordered meself an M&P .45.

I really liked the Blackhawk Serpa CQC holster with my Sig P220, but I notice that the Blackhawk fit chart claims that their holster for the M&P .45 also fits the G20/21.

From my recollection, the Glocks are VERY much larger in width than the S&W, so I hope that the holster actually fits well? Does anyone have one?

I tried a CQC for my wife's XD9 once, and it was a very "wobbly" fit, so I don't want to end up in that boat again.

Failing the CQC, can anyone else suggest a reasonably priced level 2 holster that might be as useful (ie - has belt and paddle mount available), and is low maintenance?

Cheers,

Neal

I use the CQC - and for IPSC at that. I shoot production. Yes, there are better, faster holsters, however, I like the lock retention system.

Yeah, me too - I think they are an excellent option at the price point!

So, you use yours for an M&P 45 and it is a good fit?

Cheers,

Neal

I have the .40 - the fit is good - you can adjust the retention system for a tighter fit. I use mine with the giant clip - find that it holds to my belt firmly.

Gents,

Thanks again for the responses...

I just wanted to clarify:
- YES, I have owned and shot with a CQC in the past, with a Sig P220 - I like the design a lot;
- I found that the holster alleged to fit the XD9, was a very loose fit, allowing transverse "wiggle" of the butt of the pistol, very not cool - holster returned to retailer and they all fit the XD9 the same way;
- DOES ANYONE OUT THERE HAVE PERSONAL EXPERIENCE WITH THE FIT OF THE CQC HOLSTER, for a SMITH & WESSON M&P .45?...

I am concerned that the fit will suck, as the same model CQC allegedly fits the G20, 21, AND the M&P .45, and the M&P is nowhere near as massive as the Glock.

Thanks again!

Neal

i have a blade tech for my m&p 45. They are $70 or so, lots of blade-tech dealers in canada. Make life easy, get a holster designed for your pistol.

I have a BlackHawk Serpa CQC I bought it for my M&P 45 and it works great I also use it for my M&P 9 as well. I now have a Level 2 Serpa duty holster for IPSC use and the fit is good as well.
