I want to pick up a holster for my new para .45, (5" single stack) The first instinct says to get a Kydex one from uncle mikes or bladetech. My concern is the finish on the gun is the Paracote or whatever and i dont want to end up with alot of wear on the finish. My second thought was leather, my problem i cant seem to find a holster that would be suitable for action shooting games in leather. I am looking at IDPA style shooting as opposed to ipsc but i want something leagal for both. Can anyone suggest something that will fit my needs/desires? I'm sure the options are out there its just me not knowing where to look.

I've used a Blackhawk CQC holster for IDPA style matches and find it works well. The pistol locks into the holster around the trigger guard and has a push button release so there isn't any real friction on the finish witch is what normally causes holster wear. I don't know alot about paracote but it has been my expierence that the finishes on modern pistols are more resistent to holster wear than say blueing that you would find on some older pistols and revolvers.
