You can order a holster directly from the Bladetech website.

They will ship to Canada, no problem.

bladetech again, have over a dozen of their holsters for everything from a P7 to a 627. never had a bad one. Should be a standard N frame but you could call to ask if you want.

Yeah I wasn't sure if the N-Frame means its a standard or not. Never owned a wheel gun so I assumed its like a automatic. I think I found one that I can use.

Are leather holsters any better.

Are leather holsters any better.

It depends. They look better esp with an N frame ( I had a 610 5" once too but I sold it!!) revolver. I love Kydex with semis but revolvers just look better with leather, kinda a Elmer Keith thing!

Issues with leather is moisture retention, staining, smell, can rust a blued gun ( not so much stainless). All really not a problem in Canada as you probably won't have your gun in the holster for extended times in the heat and moisture.
The other issue is you have to work the leather to make it pliable to allow the gun to draw and reholster smoothly. This takes time esp, with high quality holsters. This will slow down your draw during competition vs a Kydex one. All the guys here who use leather in IDPA have holsters that look older than me so they work like butter.
Bladetech will not have that issue. Also no moisture issues too. But they are not as esthetically pleasing to look at.

What holster did you find?

PS I would recommend Solely Canadian for a Kydex holster but I'm not sure if they have a N-frame one. They have L, K and Rugers so maybe there is an N too? Check with Tim directly here. He is SolCan.

for a stainless gun i'd go kydex, especially for a 610 which will see competition use. For blued guns i prefer leather as it's easier on the finish. but never store it in the holster, especially if your holster gets wet or sweaty, that's a recipe for fast deep rust.
