I have a lot of handguns and a garbage bag full of plastic holsters for them. Some guns are hard to find a holster for, so when I get a new one, I first try it in the holsters I already have. Usually I find that one of my holsters (or more) will fit. The Grand Powers, for example, work perfectly in my M & P holsters.
I use a paint pen to write which guns fit a given holster.
I recently bought a Glock Sport holster on ebay for $6.95 USD. I already had a Glock holster, but at that price, I had to buy it. Glad I did. I found a lot of my pistols fit it:

Some are perfect fits, with tight retention, some are bit loose.
