Hey all,

Hope this is the right place to post this, but I am looking at getting a holster for my Glock 22, and was wondering if anyone has experience with either G-Code holsters with the over-the-back strap as an added level of retention, or the Solely Canadian brand competition holsters. I don't currently compete in any shooting sports, so it would be more of a nice to have and drawing practice item. I really like the G-Code, but I'm just curious if the backstrap has proven to be a pain for anyone? Do competition holsters such as the Solely Canadian lack in retention if you are say, rolling around, crawling, etc.? Eventually I would like to get both, but as I don't have a large supply of $$$ and don't plan on competing in the VERY near future, I want to start with one I can fool around with a bit. Thanks for the input.

Solely Canadian holsters will retain your pistol through any competition requirements and then some - I was on a course that literally involved rolling around on gravel and no one lost their pistol, the Solely Canadian worked very well indeed. Same for Raven Concealment. There's no need for a thumb break, unless the competition requires it, for example PPC Duty Pistol requires a Level 2 holster, but then your thumb break won't qualify anyway.
