I was just wondering what kind of holsters and any other accessories I would need for IDPA and if anyone could recommend any good ones for a Glock 17 and/or Beretta 96.
Thanks.
+1 for Fobus or Bladetech. Uncle Mikes kydex belt slides are technically not legal for IDPA (too much body offset), if you follow the rules exactly. But most clubs will probably allow them. I prefer leather IWB carry, so I use a either a Milt Sparks or High Noon IWB, depending on which gun I'm on. And I hate the way kydex scratches the gun (yes, I'm anal ).
Most holster manufacturers will mark "IDPA approved" on their web sites (for example, BladeTech does this) for the relevant models. You can review the rules to see what counts. http://www.idpa.com/Documents/IDPARuleBook2005.pdf
As mentioned, as least in Canada, most IDPA matches have a relaxed sense of what you can strap on. Ask your RO if you aren't sure.
