Holsters for Revolvers

Any of the open bottom Kydex holsters would work, it would most likely stick out the bottom, but it would work. Uncle-Mikes, Fobus, Tac-Pro are a few you can look into.

Suggest Leather IDPA Rig EH

From using leather holsters, belts and pouches for 30 years in IPSC-PPC-Bowling Pin shoots, DCRA Service Pistol, and IDPA practices and competitions, my personal recommendation would be some quality pieces from firms like El Paso Saddlery in Texas USA , Haugen Handun Leather in Bismarck North Dakota, Black Hills Leather in El Paso TX or Milt Sparks' successor. IF anyone here knows of a Canadian equivalent, please let me know.

The thang is with leather gear made expressly for one particular pistol is that it is a "Gift to Last" for decades. I have belts and holsters that I have used for decades and they "still work".

Indeed, "just as is" my 1976 era Milt Sparks rig for a 1911A1 with its Ken Hackathorn designed holster, mag pouches and belt would pass muster today in a 2007 IDPA Match.

I ordered my first leather holster from John Bianchi in 1962; can you imagine how difficult it was 44 years ago to get "practical IDPA type gear"..long before that IDPA or IPSC designation was even thought of..and PPC was in its infancy..Chic ###lord in New York made holsters in the 1960s that would look okeh in an IDPA type match today..although I would have to consult his 1960's book to see if there were any with a covered triggerguard.

IDPA approved holsters are available from the firms I have mentioned above. They do cost more that Kydex or other newer materials but they are nice to have for the workmanship and durability build right in by hand versus stamped out in mass production.

You do get what you pay for.
