Since all the OP wants is a comfortable leather holster for the range, as he stated, I suppose that it's really academic and irrelevant whether Kydex breaks or not, or whether action shooters can draw their glocks microseconds faster.
Just as some shooters swear by polymer framed pistols, while others would not have one as a gift, each camp is going to fiercely defend their position. Neither camp is 100% right or 100% wrong and neither camp is ever going to budge on their position.
The OP switched his preference to Kydex in post #9.
As to not budge, I did. I was a leather user for years using brands like DeSantis, Safariland, Bianchi, Galco, Alessi and Milt Sparks. Once I tried Kydex, I never went back. All my guns now wear plastic. With leather, you are always struggling to re-holster esp with thumb snap designs. You're always pushing the gun in that extra few mms. They are also thicker and some holsters have the leather squeak. Kydex? Click in and forget. Easy peesy.
