Was watchting Weapon hunter and he got to shoot a WW2 authentic FG42 rifle. For him it was the Holy Grail. i was just wondering what everyone here thinks is the Holy Grail firearm of WW2. not a gun you think is the best but a gun you think is the most rare and sought after or maybe so rare its not even sought after?

for me i think would be the Owen gun. an actual one from WW2.

If I could, I would also chose a late model FG42.

Those things are marvels of design for its time. Heck even by todays standards its pretty on the ball for battle rifle.

I always wondered why the dual open bolt for auto, closed bolt for accuracy on single was never commonly used after this rifle. Genius idea if you ask me.

NAA.

x2. Only 500 made by Singer and a nice one is probably worth at least 50,000 US. I read on a 1911 collector forum that of the 500 pistols made by Singer only around 4000 are known to exist. HAHA!

One of Hitler's bodyguard's belt buckle 4 shot (.22 RF) pistols. I believe only 4 were made. At one time at least one of them was in Canada because I held it in my hand at a Haynes sale years ago. If I could remember all the details I might even be tempted to give building one a try...very intricate mechanics in it.

I missed out on one here on CGN years ago, some dude in Southern MB got it. Frankly I could live happily just owning that and nothing else.

X2 on the Owen.

For myself, I would like to get a chance to examine the Rieder automatic rifle.
