I don't know about that. I've put several thousand rounds through my Browning Buck Mark including a few casual steel matches....never had a problem

I have been--I know there are some out there! I've even checked Gunbroker and saw a super-early model in beautiful almost unfired shape. It would have been around $6500 to get it here, though!You've been looking for awhile haven't you?
I've always thought that Beretta should make a semi-auto only version of the 93R...it's an awesome looking pistol. I could live without the fore-grip.
Of the "attainable" WWII USGI 1911A1 .45ACP pistols mine is the Union Switch & Signal mfg one. Made in 1943 only with a total production of approximately 55,000 it's my "holy grail"....
