Home for Wayward Hand Cannons

That's a nice collection. I've always been fascinated by the Lone Eagle pistol, ever since I saw them in a gun digest as a kid I've wanted one. I've only ever seen them in pictures though.

.... ever since I saw them in a gun digest as a kid I've wanted one...

That totally hits close to home. My father had ever annual issue going back to the 50's so i was basically weaned on gun digest (and a few others) as a kid. I now find myself wanting to buy many of the interesting gun that I remember reading about then.

I really like your T/C barrel/cartridge choices if you ever decide to sell that 338jdj #2 barrel let me know.

My all time favorite Contender cartridge is the 375JDJ I have two stainless barrels 14" SSK Ind barrel & 21" factory taper that was a 375 Win that I had JD Jones rechamber to 375JDJ for me.

I'm into T/C Contender carbines among the 15 or so barrels I have are two more 14" barrels in 45 Colt & 45-70 but because I have them on carbine frames with butt stocks I am packing them for hunting/bush defense.

My youngest son and I are heading out for a drive into the local mtn valley this afternoon he's taking his 18" barreled Contender carbine in 10mm to plink with I'm taking the 14" barreled combo's in 375JDJ & 45-70.

Incredible collection you have there!!

I only have one boomer. I call it "The Howitzer" because of the style muzzle break Smith put on it.

It is a Performance Center Smith and Wesson 14" 460 xvr. With a one piece, Heat treated stress relieved stainless steel mount made by Near Manufacturing in Alberta. Holding a 2.5 to 8 power by 32mm Leupold VX-3 handgun scope.

Camp Cook - I'll keep you in mind if I ever decide to part with the 338jdj #2. I doubt very many ever made it into Canada. For some reason it never gained the popularity that the 375jdj did, and yet is probably a better all round cartridge.
Nice looking wheelgun there Sask Farmboy. Those 460's should be screaming pretty good coming out of that 14" barrel.
The Lone Eagles have 14" barrels, but look much shorter because the action is extremely compact, so the barrel actually starts back behind your hand. It's the bullpup of handguns.

I only load 300 grain shells to about 1800. It will do more but I go more for accuracy and barrel life. it will hold a three shot one inch at group at 100. I love using 45 because of all the available bullets on the market gives a person so many choices.

let me know if you part with the 30-06 lone eagle. Most my collection is stainless and trying to show off the diversity of handguns, with a few that are a little unusual, my smallest is a north american arms mini master all the way up to the 460, my newest is a new Smith 929 PC that i am finding to be very accurate.
