Looks good Rob,how's the kevlar shoulder holding up.LOL
I sometimes wonder if even you know how many different
barrels you have.I think I'll pass on shooting that howitzer.
Personally I think you do damn nice smith work.Pete

I shot this thing over the weekend. It worked great. Sighted in fast, the sight blades are the right height. Did the open sights first in case they are needed as a backup. The scope is quick sighted and I'll work more on that next time. Accuracy was impressive and function was right on. I think we have a winner here. This load was 95grains of RL15 with 550 grain jacketed bullets and 650 casts. Point of impact was similar.
Recoil is not all that bad. The barrel is 29" and heavy so soaks up a lot of it, no great muzzle rise with this load at least. I left an inch of barrel out front in case I later decide to port or thread it for a brake. The front swivel stud has to go out on the barrel soon, it's not in a good place as is. Next addition is the Limbsaver pad. This thing sure send the backstop flying, reaction is impressive. It's much easier to shoot too than the ligher .50/140 with the same loads. This rifle could be bench shot at least for short strings. I still need more brass if anyone has any for sale.
