Fish net, four rare earth magnets, crazy glue.
Works like a charm, net comes off and on easy. Holds over 75 rounds and I can take it off when I like, no tools needed.
I'll post pics asap!!!
No more searching and picking up brass casings.

nerd alert...

A cheap and, handy source of rare earth magnets are in old hardrives...

Looking forward to pictures.

I don't re-load yet but, I have shot .22's from "back decks"...the brass adds up quickly and, stepping on them deform the deck. Out of consideration, brass catchers might be the way to go...

If I could buddies on board, I'd get a brass roof by this time next year!

lol

Look at the porch..
Look down at all the brass...

Look up at you... More n' more I think a brass catcher is a hassle remover!

I have to admit...were I a cop and, lucky enough to visit anyone(for any reason) who's yard was littered with spent brass I'd just check the registry to know if I was safe or, not.

Yes it need to be black!
The issue with having the brass catcher with the velcro is, my guns bolt lever is on the side of the gun, unlike a real ar-15. So if I have a jam, I need to be able to pull the bolt back and load a new bullet. Having the net attach by magnets means I can quickly remove the net, reload and put the net back on really fast. The velcro is great if the gun doesn't jam or the bolt release is like an ar-15.
I can even pull the bolt back with the net on, dump the bent bullet in the net and reload without taking the net off. But I'm able to see what I'm doing. The aftermarket one looks like that would be tough to do.
The net wire is coated so it won't scratch the gun either. I used superglue so I can take the magnets off with hot water if I want.

last time I checked, superglue sticks to steel. But velcro works also. Just wanted a quicker way to reload bent shells. Both do the same job and cheaply too!

Regarding magnets and, stainless...

Try them first. Not all stainless steels are alike (nickel content? metalurgist in the house?) and, rare earth magnets stick fine to my Stainless steel Savage 64.

the only way I could get magnets to stick was with the screws that were plugging the pre-drilled holes for the scope mount, then it was a very weak where the bolt is so would lose the hold upon fire.

being a regular 10/22 I kind of fear the velcro too because sometimes I empty a magazine fairly fast which heats up the barrel and would hate to have it become part of the gun. cou:
