Well, I got tired of waiting for the next batch of NEA and Neit cool-aid, so I made my own ambi mag release. Some 4130 chrome-moly sheet, a little TIG time, a bit of grinding/filing/sanding, a healthy coat of John Norrel's flat black moly-resin and voila. Please excuse the weld porosity. It's been a while.

...waiting is a pain in the arse. One of the reasons I got into this industry, rather make it then wait for it.

Good job.

BTW.. I've got the final revisions on our ambi mag release on a sample on my desk right now. Should be heading back to the shop today or tomorrow for a quick redraw then it'll be going in line to wait to run off the machines.

I give your welding a C but I give your efforts an A+!

Since I do F-grade welding I have no choice but to wait for things. But that's very cool and it's interesting to see it mounted up in the gun.

I have seen much uglier welds (mine) hold up pretty well so that may last a long time. One way to find out!

ambi mag.
