home made e caller

From a previous post:

Also built my own e-caller - followed directions from Varmit Als web site and made up of 4 peices, a Coleman cooler, a PA horn, an amplifier and a MP3 player.

The amplifier is a Radio shack unit #277-1008 - ordered it from the 1-800-223-8344. Came from Fort Worth Texas - paid about $14.00 US.

The Speaker is a Speco SP 5 unit - cost me $14.04 each to get two of them here as the company had a $15.00 minimum order - so two came to $14.75 US or so, by the time I added on the postage and duty, jacked the price up. Specs on the speaker are at this location and this is where I purchased them from - good guys to deal with:

Cooler cost under $6.00 from CTC.(Model # 5205A753G).

I painted it with white Krylon Fusion paint, but for whatever reason, it isnt sticking all that well - so redid it with Tremclad flat white - no worries now. Also did the PA horn.
Attached the speaker to the underside of the cooler flip lid so it can store away while in transport. When in use, flip it over and the electronics are inside and the speaker on top. I am going to throw a hand warmer in there as well to keep the battery in the amplifier warm.

found a computer speaker that was thrown out, the plug to it was 15 volts dc. took the amp out and hooked it to a pa horn my dad had and a sealed 12 volt battary alittle smaller then a atv batt. and it works great, very loud. and all stuff that was laying around. going to try it out next week.

Check your hunting regs. Electronic callers aren't legal everywhere. Could have sworn I saw something about 'em not being legal in Ontario.
"...The Source..." Yep. That is Radio Shack. They aren't the only place for electronic stuff though. Where you are in Nova Scotia matters too.

cant find anything in the regs.. i know friends that use them here. anyone want to confrim they can be used in nova scotia?
