Now get the 18 coats of hand rubbed tung oil on it and it'll be a showpiece... :D

That's some seriously nice ingenuity you used for the slide. One thing you might want to look into would be to replace that spring with one of those little gas cylinders from the hatchback of a car. They would fit in the channel where the spring is and would provide damping to slow down the return so the rifle and upper don't tend to slam back into place after firing from the straight spring pressure.

Other than that I might just copy what you did rather directly. You got a pretty slick design there.

To the rest of you complaining that you could never do something like this? Gerrard488 has done the hard part in doing the design. If you have a table saw and a few other tools you could copy this to make your own. After all, plagarism is a high form of flattery.... :D
 
Nice rest, I always have a ##### of time getting a good cheek weld on these style rests..
