Nice job!! I need to make one too...I want a 1000yard range of my own...lots of room where I live and none of the ranges where I live have a range of that length...Course if I were shooting at 1000yds I would need a stand that could hold up a ten foot by ten foot steel plate...lol

Nice! Is it hardened steel like AR500.

How much use do you expect it to see? I shoot at a very busy club with 3000 members, and that gong wouldn't last a weekend on our ranges. If you only shoot it occasionally, yourself, it may last a while.

If its made of AR500 it will last a long time.

Awesome job! Looks fantastic. Also with rebar it would be cheap to replace if shot up and it is narrow so makes a smaller target if accidentally hit

Thats what quads are for.

I'd look into swapping out the chains for some webbing, shooting the chains off is a pain. Same thing for the anchors welded to the plate, one hit on them and they're gone.

Other than that its a tidy little portable design.

If the anchors were welded onto the back of the plate rather than the sides, they'd be protected. The plate would have a slight downwards tilt to it which would be good for short range shooting but you really don't have to worry about back splash if you're shooting at it at Km (+/-).

Just a though.
