Homemade 3 dot sights!

Well the other night I was out at the range with a buddie and it started to get a little dark, Being as your inside a shack. Tryed my friends Hi Power and it had 3 dots sights on it and wow what a difference it made, So he suggested I could do the same with white out. So I gave it a go and it turned out half decent. Anyone else ever do this?

Now that you know you like it, grab some white automotive touch up paint and use that. Should be able to get that effect with a more defined dot.

I thought about it, but If I ever wanted to get rid of it this comes off with a bit of WD-40

The point was to be "Budget Wise" and this only cost me 1.97$ !

I go ghetto and just halloween-glow-in-the-dark nail polish out the entire front sight. Helps when shooting black targets. At dusk.

No... but that's cool! How does it shoot in low light? Any change in point of aim? Maybe use a cardboard mask next time so you can get nice squared dots or circles.

I probably could have got more circular dots if they still made white out with a brush instead of a foam chisel tip.

use a razor to get the lines cleaner.

Agreed, I have some burned out tritium sights on a Glock that I just touched up with some white car paint to brighten them up considerably, with perfect circles. Until I get some new sights this will get me going with it.

Had some scope issues just before deer season 2 yrs ago so had to go with my iron sights. I put orange flourescent paint on the front sight and two liquid paper dots on the rear sight of my Remington 760. It looked butt ugly and embarassing but I dropped a nice 4 point with one shot.

I think you paid $1.90 too much whiteout is not tritium

I used white out on my norinco m93. for the rear sight I ended up with a 'U' Glock type sight.

perfect. White in the day, glows are night, easy to take off. More than enough in bottle to last a lifetime of touch ups.

I've done this with glow in the dark craft paint before as well. I works best if the sights already have white dots for the paint to settle into.

I tried Nitesiters as well. They are excellent but kind of expensive for what you get.

I finally orders some glow in the dark safety tape online, cut it with an exacto knife and sealed them in with some of my wife's clear nail polish. This has worked the best for me.

I will keep my eye open for the glow in the dark nail polish next time I head by the costume shop.

Keep the inexpensive but effective mod ideas coming guys. I love to tinker when I can't find time to shoot.
