Hey everyone. I was just wondering what everyone's opinion on a brand of rifle. Pro's and Con's. I have a budget of 2500 and I do want a wood stock. Been told a Winchester Model 70 is my best option.
Also I do want a walking hunting rifle if that makes sense.

Thanks everyone
What is a "walking" hunting rifle?

The two questions that is very important is what type of animal you wish to put down and what range or terrain your going through!!!

One that fits nicely in the hand and weighs in around 6-7 lbs range that’s an extension of you person,my opinion and as you can tell by this thread we all have one .There not always the same we each have our preference.
LOL!!! Well, not everyone on this thread has such a rifle. All my rifles, without a scope, weighs over seven pounds. BTW, are you answering my queston, on behalf of the OP?

Wow...can you spell "obtuse"?

Over fifty responses to this thread right now, and it appears that every single one of those other persons understood exactly what was meant by that phrase.
Are you another replying on behalf of the OP? I asked for "his" meaning of a walking hunting rifle, not YOU!. Can you read and understand english?

I may be biased, but after owning several brands from high end to entry level budget, the m70 featherweight is the only rifle I have not sold, and can’t think of anything to improve on.
I feel a next level of satisfaction with it in my hands that no other rifle has given me.
