Honesty on CGN EE

Maybe I've been lucky so far. I've never had a bad experience either as a buyer or seller. As a seller I do my very best to fully disclose. Having a seller say to me "well, you didn't ask" is someone that is less than honest. I wouldn't deal with that person ever again.

Get lots of pictures. If the seller is annoyed sending you additional pictures then chances are they are hiding something. Blurry pictures are a dead give away that there is a defect.

Lots of photos and lots of questions. If the seller gets annoyed, walk away. Many will leave out "minor" details and when you find out the hard lesson, they claim ignorance. Honesty, from my experience, is about 50% of the sellers.

The most sensitive place ,where you can be fouled is about condition of the barrel. Ask for the right of non firing 3 days inspection.

Personally I find more honesty and transparency on the EE than I do with many commercial sellers. If a seller won't quickly and cordially answer your questions just move on to someone else who will. Given that sellers may know very little about the item they are posting, I think a good portion of responsibility lies with the buyer- ask good questions and don't be fixated totally on price.

Yup. Had to return a rifle that had a solder job on the receiver to a CGN sponsor dealer.

If I receive blurry pictures that’s the end of comms

Sounds about right

Full disclosure is definitely on the seller:

pretty simple, his answer is BS. give him the negative he deserves. but, buyer beware - lots of liars around ... if the answers stink, pass

11. Descriptions of all items must be factual. Items that have been altered from original factory condition or/and modified by any party other than the original factory must be disclosed. All pictures posted must be the original pictures of the items owned by the sellers.

well, some times it just happens.
I took a brand new Norinco 22cal rifle on trade.
I sold it as new,..and it was....but the buyer wasnt happy because the front site was canted and the gun had poor finishing work LOL
not my fault , I didnt build the crappy rifle.
I got blamed for norinco's quality control....or lack of.

I find annoying when an ad starts of with disclaimer about knowing nothing about this rifle or type of rifle, then goes on to describe it as "all matching" and "excellent" bore. Can't know if it is "all matching" unless you know what is supposed to match, and often a lot more than just a number stamped on a part. A bolt and a receiver may have same number, but that does not make the item "all matching". (P14's, for example, also have that serial number on the rear sight and on the barrel - so four locations). Even funnier when a part has a "matching number", that never left the factory with that part numbered!! - band springs and bands on a Husqvarna M38, for example, or an upper band for M1917 with all three different maker's marks, each in correct position! How was "excellent" bore condition assessed? With a bore scope? Can see most of a circle of light at the far end? First treatment with WipeOut draws out major amounts of "blue" and brown/grey - thoroughly copper and powder fouled - how was bore assessed, when it is that state? All goes to asking price - a "put together" shooter that might perform fine, or a "collectible" original - might be $1,000 difference, so easy to see temptation to "overlook" issues...

not specific to military but i try to put all the infos i have on the items im selling and of course disclose everything i know. im a little conservative on that but for the better of both ends i do think.

Tired of Buy ng on the ee

Used to be happy but I cannot count the number of times I have been let down lately with total lack of full disclosure or poor pic quality that does not show true condition.

Thoughts on this...
I negotiated and bought a shotgun from a member on Sunday the 21st. He stated he would mark the ad SPF and have it shipped with tracking # on Monday.
Of course my EMT went through, but his activity on CGN ceased on the 21st. I wrote him and asked if he got it posted and if there was a tracking # on Wed.
Still no reply, and no activity as of this writing. The ad is still up 'WTS' not SPF.
Do I hope my seller is OK and not in a coma? Of course. Do I hope he sent it and it'll show up later today? Of course. What would you be doing at this point?
