Honesty on CGN EE

I have had three guns sent back for undisclosed condition issues from commercial vendors. Two of those were site sponsors. Sucks to pay for return shipping when someone was less than honest in the first place. One instance of neutral feedback for a private EE deal that the fellow strung me along so long before denying refund that I could no longer change the feedback to negative. If you look up my feedbacks, that's one jerk I would recommend no-one deal with. I sent it to auction with appropriate description and took a beating. One gun I sold via the EE had an issue that I was unaware of. Spoke over the phone and in the end an EMT to more than repair it was provided but return for refund was also an option.

I have done 36 deals on the EE over 14 years. Nary an issue. I would think any exceptions to what I have experienced are quite rare. Virtually all who come here are pretty straight up folks from my experience. By the sounds of it most issues, when they occur, are resolved amicably to both parties satisfaction.

Take Care

The trouble with the internet is it is very impersonal. The CGN community provides the ability to exchange a myriad of items. The EE rating is quite important to continue to use the services. In the past I have included a guarantee. This combined with a decent price has resulted in a good experience for me when using the EE. Besides that, good communication is a must. I provide- when it ships, tracking info and a pic with buyers address on the parcel as it sits on my table before it gets to the PO. Communication is what is most important. I agree I would start to worry if the other end falls silent

I've seen so many rifles that are refurbs and being sold as original it isn't funny . and the adds unfired since refurbished . who cares it's a refurb . not brand new .

well, some times it just happens.
I took a brand new Norinco 22cal rifle on trade.
I sold it as new,..and it was....but the buyer wasnt happy because the front site was canted and the gun had poor finishing work LOL
not my fault , I didnt build the crappy rifle.
I got blamed for norinco's quality control....or lack of.

Sounds like you withheld information on purpose. What if you received something new but broken, are you going to sell it as new and laugh at the sucker who buys it because he trusts your description?

With the quality of cell phone cameras nowadays there is absolutely no reason or excuse why someone should be taking poor quality photos. Poor quality means they're hiding something or completely incapable and the deal won't end well.

What I find strange on the EE are the amount of people selling unique/rare items without images, or telling people to contact for photos. I mean marketing 101 -- show the damned product lol! There's an ad up now for a civil war rifle, incredibly unique and rare, but no photos. Makes me wonder if people actually want to sell their stuff or not...

I think not ! very clear & multiple pics...and it was Not broken. Have you actually handled a Norinco 22
You would then understand. They come from the factory that way. ask any ones that bought these . Just horrible workmanship on Norinco's behalf.

No one expects a "Qaulity" rifle when they spend pennies for something made in china.

I build the risk into any purchase price on EE. If something generally ”unobtainium” comes up that I “need” I work very hard to inform myself. Too good to be true drives many unhappy customers.

People regularly by Jobmate tools and whine that they are not Dewalt quality. I sold a bubbaed Mosin for $80. Customer knew what he was getting and no complaints.

I find this very frustrating.

Plus people who won't respond to anything but an "I'll take it for full price and pay shipping" comment. I don't think it's unreasonable to ask a few questions about what is posted for sale. Or to ask for a picture because there wasn't one in the ad.

Add in that nobody seems to know how to edit their ad to be removed when it's sold, so a search for something fairly common will produce a few pages of sold stuff that were not marked as sold. :bangHead:

I check and read the Seller's feedback. If he has less than 100%, I am extra cautious and ask more questions than if he had 100% feedback..

If he has more Sells than Buys, I am more confident. Either way, the more feedback, the better.

What goes around, comes around. I try to disclose as much as I can, my stuff is what it is. Buyer doesn't like it? Better to let him know now than after shipping to him, then have him complain and deal with it....do it right the first time.

Have had some issues with a couple Sellers that were very very quickly fixed with a a few emails. Haven't met a Seller I didn't like.
