I ordered a ss bull barrel bmag from the us. Range reort is coming as soon as I channel out my boyds to accept the new barrel size. To give some idea of the difference between the ss barrel and the original :

As a huge bonus the new stock it came in is shorter forestock, stiffer than the original and more raked down, as well as having a massive 3/4" channel for the ss barrel. My old one is sitting in it and has more room to move than in its boyds.

Using 25gr it is now 1/2 moa at 100 meters off a bench. The stock is still flimsy to pressure but I have to put real pressure on the forestock to move it enough to touch with that massive channel.

How did you get it out of the US? I'm wanting one, I think, but now my original is starting to shoot much better now that I installed the barrel block. I have yet to try the 25 grain loads.

The 25 gn shot better out of mine than the 20 gn. Still haven't had a chance to shoot it at longer distances. I'm also waiting for a Hb to show up here.

Bass Pro , Gagnon Sports, Lebaron's(cheapest) and Al Simmons all have ammo. Al SImmon's and William's Arms both had a SS heavy barrel in stock about 3 weeks ago.

I ordered it through irunguns, even after exchange and shipping I think it is within $20 of what the gun costs after taxes now that it has made it to canada.

Finally got it mounted in the boyds stock. Took allot of sanding and fiddling. I honestly think this rifle may need to be bedded and pillored to get it secure. I notice the wooden mounts in my stock are starting to crumble a bit and the system it uses seems really lack secure metal to metal security. Maybe that's my next project.

So proof is in da shooting right? I chose to just use 20gr on this rifle as I really want to know how it deals with the full 3000fps. Sighted it in and started making holes!

Gotta say 50 yds was pretty impressive. The flyer was an overcharged round, you could hear it was louder and the bolt was sticky, case was split. As usual ammo is going to dictate how accurate this thing is. I hope someone other than winchester starts making .17 wsm, cci would be nice.

So let's go to 100

Okay I think she's a keeper. Even the 25gr in my sporter barrel/synthetic stock was hard pressed to do this.

So for fun lets go out to the max on my range. 300 yds, hornady says 16.4" of drop so 5.2 moa. Let's go 22 clicks on the millet trs-1 and see what we get on paper!

Okay, I am convinced. She's a keeper.

Looking good. I want the heavy barrel but am going to wait for the heavy barrel fluted in blue and hopefully they will have a Boyd's stock on them by then. I like the 300 yd group. How big it that side to side. Looks like around 3". That should quit down a few people.

Looks good. I have heard that the 2nd generation B-Mag are performing better than the originals. I'd really like to try this round and was hoping some other manufacturers would join the party!

More like 2"

I wouldn't bother waiting, the stainless is probably as far as they will go this year. Since you allready have the boyds just use the new synthetic for your sporter barrel, it's a great stock for the old receiver. Fluted barrels are pretty but that will probably just keep lifting the price on a bmag even higher than what it's worth!
