Hopeful...but disappointed by GS Design 3D printed mag!

I recently purchased a Sig 226 classic which has been just an awesome purchase from a very good CGNer. No regrets whatsoever. However...included in the package was a once or twice used aftermarket 22lr mag manufactured by GSDesigns which is a Canadian company manufacturing these mags and nifty last round hold open followers which is a blessing for rimfire pistols. Boy was I excited big time! Only to be disappointed big time. Not in the gun or the OEM mag but in the GSDesign 3d printed mag. After successfully loading and firing one mag the second mag suddenly ejected ALL of the loaded rounds. Much to my surprise one of the feed lips had a hair line fracture which allowed all of the rounds to eject out of the mag. After making two attempts to contact the manufacturer with not a single response I must state that I am truly disappointed in the lack of follow up and customer service. I have the receipt for the purchase of the mag from only a couple of months ago but that point is moot as the manufacturer does not have the courtesy to reply to my contact. I had planned to buy additional mags and followers but based on this experience will now likely have to buck up for the OEM mags due to the distrust in the performance of this product and the poor customer service. At this point I cannot say I would recommend this product not due to the merits of the product but for the lack of customer service and support. Reallydisappointed that this is the kind of poor customer service that we can expect from a Canadian company,,,,

Yeah...thanks. You try to support Canadian manufacturers and CGN regs but sometimes it is just not worth it.His product is unique but his customer service sucks so his product then becomes worthless as it is unreliable. Shame...

He was great when he first started up but might have gotten a wake up call on how much work was involved. Printing that stuff all day and trying to catch up on orders etc might have been overwhelming and while some guys fight right through it, some just give up. Not saying that GS did the latter but it sure seems that way with his lack of communication etc. Could be personal reasons for all we know.

That said, I've only bought dummy Beowulf rounds and the followers which are still running well. I figured the mags and mag inserts would crack sooner over the followers and stayed away from those.

I had the exact experience with one of his magazines, imagine my surprise when I inserted the magazine (with side locked back) and all 10 rounds ended up on the table!

I also tried to contact him with no success. The magazine lip broke due to a manufacturing fault caused by insufficient material retaining the lip to the body.

Yeah.....the feed lip separated jut enough to allow all of the rounds to eject straight out of the mag without breaking the lip off.

I wish I had read this a few days ago. You say it’s a Canadian company? I don’t think so. I ordered 2 mags and checked my credit card and was charged $130+. I believe he’s shipping from the Moon. Now I’m expecting junk. Live and learn

Having printed a bunch of stuff myself,,, I would never buy a pls/abs 3d printed product. Maybe sla, certainly some of the metal and ceramics prints could be good.

It is a Canadian Company. Last order I made for 4 mag extensions the Canada Post flat rate shipping was $13.50

As far back as 2015 I purchased two p226 22lr mags, with slide lock function......they continue to work fine today. Was pleased with the product, because he was local, southern Ontario, I picked up my order. No worries whatsoever.
Hopefully the mentioned problems are remedied, as he was a reliable small dealer to purchase from, and quite prompt on my case.

Earlier this year I purchased a P226 .22 mag and two LAR-15 mag extensions from GSdesigns. Everything still works great and I found his customer service to be excellent.
I even purchased a Vortex red dot sight from him in EE a few months ago.

All of my experiences with him have been positive. Will deal with him again in future.

I've heard good things. A buddy of mine swears by his stuff, and I have a couple famae acr stock adaptors coming which I am quite excited about. Sometimes people get bogged down, not an excuse when there is a customer on the other side waiting for an answer, but I would recommend kind persistence. Perhaps he's a guy that doesn't want to deliver bad news and is trying to work out a solution first - I know this can be frustrating to some who just want straight forward communication, no matter the news.

GS is a CDN source, and is helpful to a lot of us. I'd say give him the benefit of the doubt and request an update.

My thoughts anyways, plus you tend to get better results with positive persistence rather than negative; at least as a first/second attempt.
