Hopefully this educated gun community can help—does anyone have guidance on finding 25-20 WCF ammo and maybe some insight into its history and use?
I recently inherited a Winchester 1892 Trapper (take-down) chambered in 25-20 WCF, serial number 361536 (manufactured in 1906). It’s about 6–7/10 overall condition with a very clean action and furniture. My great-grandfather purchased it in 1907, and it has stayed in the family ever since.
I’ll upload photos once I’m back home. Any advice, historical knowledge, or leads on locating ammo would be greatly appreciated.
