Hopefully this educated gun community can help—does anyone have guidance on finding 25-20 WCF ammo and maybe some insight into its history and use?

I recently inherited a Winchester 1892 Trapper (take-down) chambered in 25-20 WCF, serial number 361536 (manufactured in 1906). It’s about 6–7/10 overall condition with a very clean action and furniture. My great-grandfather purchased it in 1907, and it has stayed in the family ever since.

I’ll upload photos once I’m back home. Any advice, historical knowledge, or leads on locating ammo would be greatly appreciated.

Nobody makes factory 25-20 anymore (last time I checked) but you can make it from 32-20 cases - which are commonly available.

I though I saw some at the Torrington gun show last weekend. Box was in pretty good condition. Sorry I can't remember the name of the table selling it.

I have an extra set of new RCBS dies and a few hundred new brass and lead bullets from Rustywood, I am willing to part with. If you are going to reload this is a good start ✔️ I also have load data for some good loads for this rifle model. PM

It's my understanding that Winchester carbines & trappers were never made in takedown configuration. The takedown configuration was limited to full size rifles. My take, without seeing pictures, is that its either a true trapper that's been converted to takedown, or a takedown rifle that's been shortened. Looking forward to seeing pics to clear up the mystery.
