Hornady 110gr.hollow point for deer ?

Of course it will do the job. You may get a little more meat dammage, but it will surely work. I have killed lots of game in and around the size of deer with that grain size in bullet!

my question to old haggissmasher is why would you want to work up a load for a rifle that is chambered in a caliber more suitable for a lamp :p

wjat you should do with that Tikka is get it rebarreled into a respectable caliber sa for instance something ending in a -06 perhaps like 25-06 or 30-06, now if you want something more interesting there is always a 35 Wheland.

Great case that 06 case but why oh why do people want to put intermediate sized (.270) bullets on it. :D

How about a new wildcat round called the 27-06?:p I'm sure it would be a hit, might even get one of the big ammo makers interested in taking it commercial:D

well I think if your using a .277 bullet you should call it a 28-06 just so it won't be confused with other crappy rounds. :D

The issue isn't the weight of the bullet, but how it is made. The bullet in question is meant to kill varmints, not deer. They will kill the deer most of the time when the hunter does his part. A bullet designed for deer etc. will kill the animal every time the hunter does their part.

Every time or most of the time. Which do you think is the better choice?

You failed to tell us what you are hunting.

If it is the little blacktails the 110 gr. bullets would be ok. If you are going into the interior for big B.C. mule deer or white-tails then a better bullet may be advisable.
