Hornady 155gr. TAP

I decided to load some @ 10 thou off the lands and got a .630 (I called the third shot off. It would have been in the .3's) and a .365 3 shot group and then I shot another 3 shots and it was about 1.5" so I gave it a fourth shot and it landed on top of the first. I figured maybe I was still a little to close to the rifling so I backed off another 5 thou, and shot a .243 three shot group. I stopped there for the day. I am shooting a SAVAGE M10FP McMILLAN with a loopy 6.5-20 VXIII. The load is 45.0gr. Varget and a moly coated 155gr A-MAX

Yes, I agree that these particular bullets should be seated as close as possible. .010 is reasonable.

My rifle gives groups that hover a little over .25 with 45.0 grains Varget, out of a Federal case, ignited by a Federal 210M. I seat to 2.810. Obviously, all of these things are unique to my individual rifle, but it goes to show that the 155 AMAX really works.

155 would be exellent for .308 semi-autos...The best factory ammo I ever used on my old .308 10FP was actually, Hornady TAP in 165gr & 168gr.
