Hornady 178gr A-max .308

Hello guys, went to Higginson today to buy some 168 amax but he was out of stock. Second choice i had was to go with a heavier bullet. I picked up some 178gr but found out it's not in my reloading books. Does anyone has some data on this bullet? I already have h4895 powder so if it's possible to get something with this powder as well. Thanks a lot

My 20" savage 10FP likes the 178 with 41gr Varget. The gun is a 1:10 twist so it likes long bullets.

I shoot the 178 A-Max in my 10 FP-LE2B it prefers IMR 4064

My 700P shoots the 178 AMAX better than any other bullet out there. With 43.0gr. of Varget I get consistant 0.5MOA groups. I've tried this load out to about 400 yards and have yet to find a SMK (my personal fav) that outperforms the AMAX. Great BC for the 178gr. bullet.

178gr. AMAX, Win case, Fed 210M primer, 43.0gr. Varget, 2.83"COL.

I've tried this load using IMR 4064 but didn't like the results. I stick with Varget for my serious target stuff.
