Hornady 185 xtp .45 acp data?

I'm looking for load data for the JHP 185gr XTP with Winchester 231

I received these bullets as a Hornady promo, and I don't want to buy their manual just to burn these up.

If anyone has their 9th edition, could you post the min/max and COL for me.

Out of the Lyman 49th. Using a 185 xtp hollow point. My favourite out of my ruger sr1911 is 5.9 gr of 231.


If you can't read it min is 4.4 gr and max is 6.1.

go to Hodgdon's website for load data, they use hornady bullets.

What I'm getting from my Hornady 8th edition handbook is very different.

For a Hornady 185 gr HP-XTP bullet, with Win 231:
Min load is 6.4gr/850fps
Max load is 7.2gr/950fps

I'm kind of surprised by the different data so don't take my word for it and please double check.

Wow that is a big difference. I got my data out of the Lyman 49th. And they used a 185 gr xtp hollowpoint as there load. Good to know.

I just checked the Hodgdon site but the 185gr XTP bullet is not listed. Maybe one of you guys out there has the Lee book or another so we can compare the data.
