Just got a box of this new bullet and Im looking forward to trying it out in my 300 WM. 26" barrel with a 1-9" twist. Id appreciate any info I can get on others findings and load data to possibly save me some time and components.

I have a box laying around and have done some initial load work up. The Amax is nice as it does not appear to be a touchy bullet. I'm playing with some 210gr Berger VLDs right now. The have great possibilities but are really picky.

Long Range Canuck is the guy to talk to, he's got a great load running from his 300WM and could give some input on performance at range. He also harvested his deer this year with one and was happy with the results. (575yard shot in strong crosswinds, Way to go bud)!!!

I was spotting for LRC when he took out his deer at that confirmed distance. It was a lung shot through and through. If I had a 300WM, I'd be picking up a couple boxes and making this round my go to bullet of choice. Every gun reacts different to bullets but if your gun likes them, I wouldn't use anything else. If you're looking for them PM LRC and he'll tell you where he got his and the price of them.

Yep they worked exceptionaly well, and I must admit I was suprised at how well they worked. I was expecting them to fragment inside the deer but as Glock say's they were a through and through shot. Exit wound was around .75" and as clean as it gets.

I would have loved to reach out further but in those winds didnt want to risk wounding an animal and especially using a round I havent had on anything other than targets. I had to use one full milliradian of holdover to put that one in the boiler room. I can say I would use it without hesitation on soft skinned game. It was a great hunting trip and we all filled our tags. Look forward to next years trip and hope to get the Antalope draw this time. :D

Here's a pic of my prize. Now being processed for good eats!!

MooseHunter,

Here is what I have tried in my 300wm with the 208 a-max:
-79gr Retumbo Federal 215M in Nosler brass - too much compression.

-77gr H1000 fed 215M in Norma brass.

The load I have settled on:
- 75gr IMR 7828SSC Fed 215M in Norma brass.

These rounds are all loaded with the a-max .135 into the lands and I am shooting them out of a 28" 1-10 twist barrel.

Nice white socks Shainline. Very uber-tactcal of you!

Thanks Ben!! I like to give the deer a little edge at that range, I personaly feel full out cammo is not a very fair way to hunt, And my pink ones were in the wash. :p
