Hornady 270 145 precision hunter.

I bought some 145 eldx bullets today and updated my hornady manual. The bc on these eld bullets looks like it makes the 270 perform much better at distance. The precision hunter ammo they sell gives a muzzle velocity of 2970 fps. I bought some and pulled the bullets and measured powder 51.9gr.

Does anyone know what magic powder it is that they use to get that velocity with such little powder?

From Sierra loading data, it could be H380, or IMR4350/H4350. How accurate are the eld-x bullets with you setup?

I just picked them up today and haven't tried them out. Hopefully tomorrow I'll run these factory loads and see how they print. I've never tried h380 in a 270 before. Mostly I like h4831 but most loads are closer to 60 gr and not that fast. At least with a 140 and up

The powder they use would be a blend of powders not known to us.

Hornady data show h4831 at 3000fps with 59.9gr.
