Hornady 303 Savage

They aren't making factory .303 sav ammo and AFAIK,nobody else is either.Your friend was probably thinking of the factory .300 savage ammo hornady has just released in the superformance line of ammo.I can't wait to try some.

If you click on the link, it is / was clearly 303 Savage.

Yup, looks like they are breathing life back into that round. Good to see as, as that chambering has a lot of history and a devout following.

I think that is a typo as the new release is 300 Sav. not 303 Sav. There is a .303 Brit in 174 BTHP Match coming out. I just had the Korth Group (Hornady Distributor and rep) sales manager in my office yesterday and was given the new brochures that support what I have described. Yes, we have some on order...no ETA. Phil.

If you look on Grafs web site it's listed there. The Hornady box clearly shows .303 Savage (#80495) but the brass case has a PPU headstamp. I believe Grafs had Hornady make an exclusive run of ammo made for them - they are big enough to do that! It looks like Hornady used the Prvi brass (which is available seperately - I had Henry bring in 200 for me). Also on Grafs web site is loaded ammo made by PCI - a smaller manufacturer located in the US.

Either way, loaded ammo or newly made brass, it's all good news for the fans of the .303 Savage!

As per Graf's website: " Graf & Sons has teamed up with Hornady to provide quality ammunition in previously hard-to-find military surplus calibers."
I assume this to be the case here, an exclusive run of them for this company. I spoke to Henry, said he had brought some up before, and he is looking into it for me. Keep you all posted.

There is a chap trying to sell it on GunBroker at extorsion pricing for the unbelievers in the crowd. 303 Savage not 300 Savage or 303 British.
From his ad it sounded like a limited run. I guess they can't pay very good attention there has to be more 303 Savages around than 280AI and yet they make that.
Keep us posted Matt!

That is very interesting...Having been at the Hornady plant last year and observed the more intimate involvement that the owners (Hornady family) have with day to day affairs I will ask the Canadian distibutor (Korth Group) to look into a similar run for Canada. There obviously is some minimums involved and that may be way more than we could consume here but it doesn't hurt to ask. We have been waiting several years for Winchester (Olin) to do a seasonal production of this caliber but haven't seen anything. Phil.

Hornady has just released .300 savage 150 gr sst"s in the superformance line up.It is on the website. This .303 sav ammo the OP is talking about is in the hornady custom line up.It's not on Hornady's site. That's odd.I knew the .300 sav was coming for a while because i emailed them in 2010 to ask why the don't offer it.Within the day,Mr. Jason Hornady responded and told me about the 2012 release of .300 savage factory hornady ammo.I'm sure if anyone with a .303 emailed them about the situation, you'd get a response and clarification.
