So I'm very good at buying combinations of powder and bullets that aren't in any of my reloading manuals..... Or on the Hodgdon data site.

Anyone have any load data for a 357 magnum round with these bullets and powder? Help much appreciated. And I have magnum primers.

just use the data they have for the hornady 158gr XTP bullet.

15gr min and 16.7gr max for h110/w296 powder.

i use 15.5 gr of h110/w296 with berry's plated bullets (158gr) to 1.620" berry's bullets are .688 long. so if your bullet is say .650 long then you would seat your bullets to 1.582" long

if you know the difference in bullet lengths (projectile) you can figure out a safe over all length as long as the bullet weights are the same or close.

those are my loads, use at your own risk, blah blah blah.

I disagree. The load data for the XTP might be safe, but the lead bullet should not be driven as fast. The powder is a poor choice. Start at 12 and work up, testing for accuracy. I am guess in 12 would be the best.

my understanding of that particular powder is to not deviate to much from the min/max for the load.

but i do agree it's not the best powder for lead rounds (unless gas checked)

Really? I have titegroup as well that i use for my 38 loads but its a fast burning powder.

I'll go pick up some Hornady XTP for my 357 magnum loads and use the lead for 38 +P rounds. I only bought 300, no big loss. I learn something new every time I screw up!

Thanks. Yea, i use 3.3 with 148gr campro plated semi wadcutters and it works great as a light target load.

I just havent loaded any magnum rounds yet. I have some 125gr campro truncated plated bullets. If i go with hornady xtp 125gr loading info, i should be able to load 21grains of h110 with mag primers and get 1881 fps.

Just measure the projetile differences so you have the base of each bullet seated in the same spot and thus the same pressure so long as your bullet weights are close/the same.

If you have the soft lead swaged hornady bullets they may give you leading problems if you load them at +P levels--depends somewhat on how well they fit your throats and barrel.
