Hornady 75 grain A-MAX .224

Has anyone gotten good accuracy with this bullet in a 1/9 twist barrel??? I know of 2 who haven't.

Yep. BLC-2 and CCI 450 mag primers. I am in the 2.5 MOA range. I know that ain't match accuracy, but it works well for what I use 'em for.

Amax is tricky because of the length of the bullet not the weight... if you have a problem with the Amax try just the normal match bullet. 75 Amax now on the package says 1-8 twist... 75 match has no twist on the package and 68 Match says 7-10 twist...

I have a partial box of the 75 Amax if somebody wants to try them, maybe trade for something else?

I have used them in my Model 700 with a 1-9 twist and have had excellent results. I can shoot gopher size targets at 300 yds with them all day. They are a little pricey though.

Bulk 55 grn BlitzKings over 20 grns of IMR 4198 are nothing short of spectacular.

I get 3 inch groups with them at 100 yards in a Savage LRPV in 223 and the same gun gives 1/4 inch groups with shorter match bullets.

They worked out my Savage LRPV 223 out to about 600 then they started to wobble.

They will be picky about jump more than anything.
Also, don't judge them on the 100m line, pretty much any short varmint bullet will beat them there.

This was what I got out of my stevens 200 useing Varget ,never did try any other powders though, kinda lost interest in them . 69's shoot bugs at 100y out of it

I would not go with heavy bullets out of 1/9 twist barrels. Had excellent results with 69gr. A-max out of my 700 LTR.

Maybe you could share what worked for you? I tried Varget up to and past max,BR4 primers with a jammed and 10 thou off. I would love to get these buggers working for long range yotes. Thought about trying SR magnum primers but never got around to getting any.
