hey anyone have experience with reloading Hornady brass? whats the quality like, or how many reloads are you getting out of them? i would be buying 375 H&H (dont know if it would make a difference in quality). i just bought a bag of Remington and am not super excited about how banged up they are coming right of the bag.

My only experience with Hornady brass was when I was reloading heavily for the 30-30.
Had a number of cases from their 160 FTX loads.
The issue I found was the primer pockets were too tight.
I could not seat the primer to the proper depth no matter how hard I used the press.
In the end I tossed them in my recycling brass bag.

That was my experience, but maybe it was just me?

I just put up a post on the Lapua brass, check it out, they come in their own case, so no dented necks or dinged bodies :D
 
I reload Hornady brass in 204 and it has lasted last 6 reloads so far but they are two totally different cartridges. As for the primer pockets they are very tight but a movie and primer pocket uniformer will take care of that and improve your accuracy.
 
I tried some in my 223 before my Lapua brass arrived. The weights varied considerably between cases and the accuracy was not as consistent as with the Lapua brass.

Ya but RP is still better than WIN in the 204. Out of 200 RP brass i only had a few bad(like 5 or 6) and out of 200 WIN i had close to 60 that were no good(did the whole resize on them and a bunch of them crushed when i tried loading them after, the necks are very thin on Win brass). Some of the hornady brass i have for my 204 i have loaded 4 or 5 times. No issues yet.

Whoa, 60 out of 200 crushed!! When seating the bullets I am assuming? I have win brass thats on its 4th cycle and have not had any crushed necks and none in any make of brass. I currently have 1500 cases that are between 2nd and 4th reloads. I would look at your seating die as possibly being the problem. RP is just really bad for varying weights and sh!tty flash holes in my experience.
 
Did you try uniforming the primer pocket?

Ya that is what i first suspected it was, but i tried my redding seating die and my rcbs die and same thing. I was using Lee dies for about the first 10-15. I have some Win brass that is on its 3-4 too but so far the hornady and the RP brass seem to be lasting the longest as some of them have 6 loads. I have 3 sets of 204 dies just incase i run into any issues. I only have this problem when loading 32grn V Max's. But the 40grn v maxs would go in no problem. Not to sure but im going in today and im pickig up some rp and some nosler brass. The nosler isnt cheap though at 48/50.
