Picked up some 139gr to try in my 7mmSTW. Anyone had experience with GMX's?

I have used them in a rem 7 mag. very quick kills no bullets to recover. threw and threw penetration.

I like them. Rear quartering shot on a moose (follow up) at 80yds. 30cal 150gr launched at 3000fps, penetrated from kidney to opposite shoulder under the skin. Looked like promo pics of GMX/TSX.

Should do what all the mono bullets do. Tsx, E-tip, ttsx all similar. Deep penetration and not the biggest holes diameter wise.

I've tried SSTs, exploded on a small black bear shoulder. It worked, but I can run into a Grizz any time and an SST wouldn't penetrate.

I thought the OP was asking about the GMX, not the SST????

As for the GMX....a great bullet, but similar restraints as the TTSX's. They may fail to expand at longer ranges. Dave.

Yes, I was giving some context to my decision. It was likely that something like SSTs had come up in the OP's decision making process also.

Killed large black bear with 150 gr gmx hand load from my 30-06.Shot was 100 yards and broadside,bullets passed through with good wound channel and bear expired 20 yrds from shot.Second gmx kill was 230 yard quartering away shot on a white tail.Used a 165 gmx on this one and put it behind shoulder and exited through brisket with nice 2.5'' hole.Deer pilled up within 30 yards.So far I'm very pleased with this bullet and might use the 165 for Grizz if get draw this year!
