Anyone had any experience with Hornady 308, 150 grain GMX bullets?
Ballistic Coefficient is the same .415 as the SST and Interbond.
They cost less than Interbond but not sure if I will burn my barrel out.
Anyone see the results on a moose or bear?
Thanks Mike

Where on earth did you get the idea the GMX bullets will burn your barrel out? I don't think I want to know.

They will shoot well and work well on game. Nosler and Barnes, make solid copper bullets as well.

My only issue with them is "whether or not they are made from a softer and therefore, major fouling mix".

The price on them is certainly reasonable.

Give Hornady a call or email them with your query. The reps there are knowledgeable and will tell you all about them, including their performance on game.

looking at their pictures of expansion at different impact velocity, seems they may not be the best choice for longer range shots. Check out Hornady's catalog to see what I mean

I'd bet they'd kill a moose or bear

Got a reply back from Hornady on their GMX bullets:
I asked:
"I would like to switch to GMX bullets for hunting for the following reasons: 1. They have the same bullet ballistic coefficient as SST and Interbond. I shoot SST at the range and on deer. 2. They are more reasonably priced than Interbond. 3. I believe that they will hold together better in thicker skinned animals like moose.
My question is: will they have an increased wear on the barrel of my firearm? What do you recommend for maximum velocity in my 270 and 308 for 130 and 150 grain bullet?
Thanks Mike"

They replied:
"Mike, these bullets have not shown any more bbl wear than any other bullet.
Also there is no MAX velocity on these bullets as they do not have a core and will take any velocity given to them.
Thank you and good hunting."

Only way to tell is to try a box. I will keep ya posted. Mike
