Hornady Interbond results on game

The DGX that came next isn't a buffalo bullet either. I've personally used it in .450 Nitro Express and about the only good thing I can say about them is that that's what the VC was regulated with.Won't be useing them again.

That must have been when you lost your smile.

No, upon reflection, I think it goes back earlier than that...

:)

As for me, I have to say that I've had much better luck than Dogleg getting Interbonds to shoot. My .30-06 absolutely loves 165 grain Interbonds, but then it loves the 168 grain TSX bullet as well -- so now it only sees TSX pills down the tube purely for the wider range of application the Barnes bullets provide.

At the same time, the 130 grain Interbond is still the only bullet I shoot in my .270, and it has happily dispatched about 50 critters ranging up to about 600 lbs. on the hoof and with enough accuracy for several of them to have been shot at ranges of 300 - 450 yards. They don't exit the far side as often as the TSX bullets do, but they do penetrate more than adequately for game of this class. The most demanding shot I've taken with these bullets was a 200 yard running away shot at a large waterbuck (a stoutly built critter I'm guessing to have been around 500-600 lbs.) and the bullet managed to penetrate from the wrong end into the right end and make for a fairly short tracking job.

Maybe Dogleg would have better luck with Interbonds if he smiled at them once in awhile :)

I used the 165gr Interbond in my .308 to take a bull moose at 290yds. There was no drama, but i did not recover any lead.

For the speeds you're throwing those bullets, it does not matter. Interbond would work, SST would work, damn near any bullet will work just fine. If you're getting great accuracy out of them, use em! A shot to the vitals with any modern hunting cartridge will result in a dead deer less than 100 yards from where they were shot.

On another topic, what cartridges are you guys using where you recover bullets on the off-side of deer?? Seems no matter what bullet/rifle combo I use, it destroys the insides and keeps on trucking.

180 grain interbonds are my go-to bullet in the .30-06. Very, very accurate and they seem to open up very well with good penetration. Typical bonded bullet.
