hornady interbonds - who uses them?

^^^ mine to. I've tried 4 type of power with them, these powders my 18", 1:10 twist barrel really liked with interlocks: 4895- both imr and hodgson, imr 3031 And CDs .223. Same results. Maybe I got a bad couple boxes but looking at a few of the spares the tips are so much longer and thinner compared to nosler tips. And only 3 out of the ten look straight and true to me. 5 these 10 that are left have been there for a while and picked up, fondled, and probably dropped. So I'm thinking that perhaps the ones I've loaded have been bent before shooting, either when loaded in my mags, or duri the loading process itself.
I had the same idea as you guys when I found that the BC coefficient of the SSTs was the same as the Interbonds. Figured if the shoot similarly, I can use the SSTs for practice on paper. I've bought a box of each to try out in my Win 70 30-06. Will see how it goes.
I've shot the 180s in my Tikka 300wsm didn't get a MOA group that I was looking for in a bonded bullet. However that being said it has a knock down bullet for all the deer I've shot. If it wasn't for the price compared to the Accubond it wouldn't be my first choice. I haven't tried the 165 IB in my rifle but I might give the Matrix hunting bullets a try before I use the 165 IB.
Every time you change bullets you will have to work up a new load. The bullet bearing surface and BC as well as other factors will all change how that bullet leaves the muzzle. I find that using the data from a known good load with a different bullet with the same weight is only a good starting point for the new bullet. I usually load up a tight ladder on either side of the known load from the old bullets load.
No I'm not trolling, every time I see a moose getting shot with a cheap interlock, it dies.
I simply wonder why pay 3x more for interbonds if hunting is the purpose.
That's not trolling, that's looking for a purpose else than paying more for a theorically superior bullet.
Placement would seem more important to me than weight retention, therefore keeping the same load seems more productive.
