How high (inches) is the Hornady LNL AP press from the bolt holes to the top of the bullet feeder, am making a pedestal and want to know how much room I’m playing with. ThanksR:d:

You definitely need some play room to install the thing and swap out clear plastic drop tubes for different casing diameters. My L&L bowl edge measures 37 1/2 " above the bench top too, with an absolute minimum of 4" extra required to install the bowl/motor assembly on top of the square tubing stand its impaled on.

I suppose you could mount the bowl on the square tube before bolting the tube to the unit if you had to, but that would be a real pisser of a way to do things and would leave you lacking, as onagoth points out, the room to change out the various sizes of feeder plates (drop in) and add cases (or free jambed ones). If you allowed for 42" total, you wouldn't be overdoing it. Personally, I'd want a foot of clearance or 49 1/2 " minimum.

Thanks HKMARK23,:) As luck would have it I have 50" to play it, I'm okay, May the Gods of Reloading be with US...:dancingbanana:

50" is lots, my overhead lights only clean the top of my press by about 10" and that is plenty.

Good luck with the setup, make it as strong and as sturdy as the press

[Good Advice Onagoth.:D
Actually, I made a portable stand because I didn’t want to anchor it to the floor, what I used was a old tire rim, I clean it up & welded a 8” round ¼”plate on top of the hub and then welded a 2 ½ “ pipe, and on top of that, a flat plate ( 8” x 5” x ¼”), drilled out for the mounting bolts. The measurements from the floor to the top mounting plate is 39 1/2'” To finish it off I filled the rim with cement, so the overhaul weight must be 200 to 300 lbs, I them use primer on it and then gave it a coat of red paint to match the press. Now that sucker is not going to move. All I have to do now is wait for the press..[/B]R:d:
