Hornady LNL Primer issue

Hey all,just got this press and so im assembling it and cycling brass thru it to make sure it seats primers correctly and it seems like they seat a little too high almost flush the the brass.Ive compared a couple i mase to my factory UMC and theres definitly a difference.Anyone know how to adjust the press to make primers seat a tad lower?
 
I'm still waiting for mine to show up in the mail, but I believe there is a screw you can adjust on the underside of the shell plate. There was an excellent set of videos from hornady on how to set up the press on youtube.

There were about a dozen videos. Very thorough.
 
Make sure that the primer punch is threaded all the way up against the bottom of the ram/shellplate carrier. Also check for burrs that may be holding it proud . It should be able to go full stroke inside of it's own bore , as you have seen it is the pressure of the down stroke that does the seating. What kind of primers are you using? Have you checked any of the primer pockets for excess residue?
 
Ahlsy,I've torqued the nut underneath the shell plate pretty good,it didn't work.and I also saw the videos to no avail tho.
Blaser,I haven't really checked primer pockets because i put the shells thru the tumbler and assumed they were clean.even if it wasnt tho I'm not cleaning the primer pockets on thousands of shells when doing 9mm.

This is a common problem with LnL. If you ask, Hornady will send you a replacement primer punch that's a few thou longer, but this doesn't always solve this issue. What does is putting a thin shim on the press body where the punch hits.
