what does everyone think of hornady's lock and load classic kit? im looking at getting into reloading and want to be able to reload rifle and pistol calibers and im not too concerned with speed. plus the kit seems to come with everything you need for basic reloading including hornadys loadbook

I have the LNL AP, so I can't comment on much about the classic. I can say, that the quick change bushings, are awesome! I gets annoying having to reset your dies, this way, you just set them, and they are ready when you want to use them next time. Get enough bushings to have one for each of your dies, if you can. If you are anywhere close to USA shopping, you'll be able to get much better prices on all your accessories. As far as Canadian availability, you have several options, including Mystic Precision who can get anything hornady for you. Don't forget to send in for your free bullets. The paper I got when I got my press, states that Canadian orders only need to add $5 extra to get them, so I suppose they must have a Canadian distributor to send them.

it can be cheaper to buy the components yourself and not get the kit. plus the kit has a whole bunch of crap you dont really need. I am satisfied with mine, recently got the AP, but have not used it yet. The quick change bushings are great.

x2, after buying a LNL AP, I retrofit my Redding SS with Hornady LNL bushings.

Yes, Canadians do get the bullets. Be patient, it takes a Loong time.

Sadly for Canadian dealers, our strong loonie makes for a solid US advantage when it comes to reloading gear prices. Specify USPS when you purchase reloading gear from stateside dealers. UPS etc will $hamelessly rape you for unneeded $ervice$ and are actually slower than the post office.

Hornady's customer service and warranty are unsurpassed in the industry.

Classic Kit

I bought the Classic Kit and am very happy with it. The only piece I am not happy with is the scale, it is not the best and would prefer a beam type.
Also to note
-the powder thrower only come with the rifle rotor/insert.
-the rebate free bullets take 6+ months to come.
