Right now I have a lee pro 1000 reloading press but want to change it up and reload for my rifles. A store in my area is having a sale right now, selling the Hornady Lock N Load Classic Reloading Kit for a price of $395.95 and I was wondering what you guys think? Is this a good deal? I still don't know very much on the subject just kind of starting out so if you have any information on this kit it would be appreciated!

Also if you could tell me what exactly comes in this kit?

Thanks,
Josh

Lock-N-Load Classic single-stage press
Lock-N-Load Powder Measure
Electronic Scale
The 8th Edition Hornady Handbook of Cartridge Reloading
Three Lock-N-Load Die Bushings
Primer Catcher
Positive Priming System
Hand-Held Priming Tool
Universal Reloading Block
Chamfering and Deburring Tool
Primer Turning Plate
One Shot Case Lube

US MSRP of $382, could probably actually buy it down south for under $350, so $395 here isn't bad. You're gonna want more die bushings depending on how many calibres you load. Hornady stuff is rock solid, and has a great warranty. I think you'll be very happy with it. You'll need a trimmer however, unless you already have one.

so it is possible to buy down south just as long as its not primers, powders etc? If that is the case I may as well wait for my next trip down south and pick on up there.

Thanks for the quick reply.

Presses and Dies are considered to be tools. It is fine to buy them down south, so long as you are within your limits for duty free goods. I purchased most of my reloading tools in the US. As you state, of course, primers, bullets and cases, cannot just be brought back.

add another $150 and you can get the hornady progressive. I have both, if you plan to reload a lot, the single stage press will become a chore.

Frontier has a great deal that comes with 1 shell plate: http://www.frontierfirearms.ca/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=856_857&products_id=1521

shipping included and you get 3% off if you pay with EMT, plus a mail in for 500 free hornady bullets worth from $100-150 dollars, so if you take all that into account, you get a progressive for the same price or less than the single stage kit

Here's a US Style boot in the berries, for those who can't make it down there. Last visit, I bought my LNL AP for $345 at a closing sale, Wholesale Sports Fargo. The regular going price, everywhere else down there is $429. It's a great press, but if someone needs all the scale and stuff that comes with the kit, the LNL AP is just the press and powder measure.

L&L AP with case feeder and shellplates/feeder plate for 45 ACP (2009), delivered to my door, Visa bill = $C 948.00
less value of 1000 45 ACP JSWC delivered to my door ($C 250.00) = $C 698.00. Cost of shipping bullets + $C 25.00 = $C 723.00.

Never left the house :p.

The hotel was worth it. The 3yo loved the waterslide. I guess I only get 500 bullets, so $150 value, from $345, $195. I wouldn't want the case or bullet feeder, I'd feel like the machine didn't need me at all, if I could find some way to automate the handle.

Understood curtmg :D. I'm siding with you. The L&L AP has been one of the best deals going in recent years. I expect that as Hornady gains market share, prices will rise and freebie bullet offers will disappear and folks will still be buying em cause they're just a great press.

Congratulations ;) !
