Hornady, Lyman or RCBS!?!?!?!

Hey troutseeker, it's Jeff's neighbor, I had met you over the little party at his place this summer. Remember the nail game? Hah...

I missed your post... why so grumpy and negative? I am absolutley sure reloading will save me money, especially when you consider that I'm paying $60 for a box of 20 premium shells. Either Nosler or Federal GMM.

I don't mind buying the Nosler stuff because apparently it's PREMIUM Norma brass that they are using and just stamping it Nosler. So far I've got about 160 casings which means I spent around $500 !!! Makes me shudder to think of it.

I take it I can reuse that brass about 5 times at least, factor in Bullets and Powder and my time, I can remanufacture 160 bullets that are going to be much better than the original Nosler customs, and FAR below the cost I paid. This is why I'm so excited to get into reloading.

Hi bud, nice to see you are still on the site! Well, first of all I am a miserable SOB!!!:)

Reloading can be a huge time waster. Sure you'll allegedly save some money:rolleyes:, but think about the hours you will not get to spend with your family. Do yourself a favor and don't spend too much on your kit, and sure go ahead and reload what you need. With one caliber it wont be too expensive or time consuming. Give me a shout when you are about to start, I can come around to get you started and I will bring you a pound of H4831SC, your first 100 magnum primers and a box of 180 grain Nosler partitions to get you going!

Anyways, the fellows posting about the huge savings are pretty much NOT the norm. They shoot and reload significant amounts, and obviously like to play with guns...:D

So it's my time to call bulls**t! Nobody is taking into context your original post? You want to reload for a .300WM, not a pistol, lol. Powder cost's will be significantly higher than what the itsy-bitsy pistol cases cost to load up (think maybe 100 rounds per pound of powder, instead of several times that). Brass is more costly as well, and guess what? So are the bullets! Amazing!

The guys reloading pistol use them fancy presses that you pull the lever and a round magically appears! I doubt that the you would go for such automation, and will likely not produce as many rounds per hour, by a very large margin (nor will you need to as you will likely not shoot thousands of .300WM a year:eek:). Unless of course you use the .300WM for shooting IPSC, lol...:p But then you'll have another expense, a new barrel every 3 to 5 thousand rounds, ouch!

As far as making better quality ammunition, that is not necessarily the case. Most ammo manufactures put out high quality products which will give most of us all the accuracy we need. The argument for premium bullets and components can rage on for days, but since guns were invented, any bullet in the lungs will kill game all over the world...
