Hornady said:
Thank you for getting back to me with this information. Would it be possible for you to return this ammunition to our distributor in Alberta, who will replace it with new product? If so, please ship to the address listed below (with a small note included mentioning that this return was authorized by Hornady):

Korth Group
AB, Canada

Thank you.

Subject: Misfire

Mike,
I wanted to let you know that I found out in order for us to comply with replacing the 1 box of ammo we would indeed need to get back the reaming round of ammo with the misfired round. We need to do this to test and verify what has happened to the round and if indeed it was the ammo that was the problem. If you would like to proceed forward with this you would need to send us the remaining ammo in the box they came in so we may do this. If you have any other questions please feel free to call us again at your convenience at 1-800-338-3220.
Thanks again

What gun are you using? Is it a Savage? If anyone has Hornady issues contact Korth Group in Okotoks Alberta as they represent and distribute Hornady products. Phil.

Yeah I'm using a .308 win Savage 10 fcp-k.

Korth group, that's where Kelsey asked me to ship the remaining rounds.

Some Savage chambers are having problems with some Hornady ammo especially Superformance ammo. Both companies suggest it's the others problem but what I have been told is that both companies run right up to the Sammi specs max tolerances thus some guns have problems. Savage uses very tight bore dimensions and with max loaded ammo some calibers have had extraction and pressure issues. It was suggested that some Savage chambers may have slight tooling marks that have no issue with most ammo, except Hornady Superformance. Some shooters who have this problem and wish to continue using this ammo have been getting their chambers polished to prevent extraction problems. This may or may not be your problem. Most Savage 338 Lapua's are having problem with Hornady ammo and we generaly don't recommend it's use in Savege guns. Phil.

Plain and Simple this Lot from Hornady Was Overloaded I pulled 2 Boxes apart and confirmed it with the Ballistics crew at Hornady .

I had this problem with their .338 lapua match. I did take a few apart just to see for my self and the loads were all over the place. Out of one box some varied 1.4 gr. highest to lowest.
Mind you I didn't have the dangerous pressure signs.
